"Something magical happens to the glass when light passes through it."    Marc Chagall

All my life I have been drawn to water and I am now fortunate to live within walking distance of the sea and estuary in East Devon. This, and the beauty of the countryside provides me with a constant source of inspiration for my stained glass designs.

I feel that both water and glass share the same properties. The light play and magnification of colour through water fuels my work and finds an aesthetic resonance in the purity of colour which is present in glass.

I choose to use mostly mouth-blown and antique glass as they have a uniquely vibrant quality due to the irregularity of the bubbles and textures.

I enjoy the challenge that commissions present as working with clients always provides an opportunity for originality.
